Mourant Equity Compensation Solutions, the arm of Jersey firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune which advises businesses on their employee share schemes, has launched a Seattle office.
Mourant Equity, which already employs more than 200 staff in Jersey and Croydon, recently took on Microsoft’s director of equity compensation Kathryn Kindgren to head the new Seattle office.
All three directors in the business, Dominic Jones, Kevin Brennan and Richard Jeune, are also equity partners of Mourant.
A third of Mourant’s income comes from Mourant Equity, which administers the employee share schemes for 44 of the FTSE 100. Clients include IBM, GE and Vodafone.
Asked how Mourant could have won the work ahead of the likes of Citibank and Lloyds TSB, Jones said: “We compete against them because of the entrepreneurial spirit of the firm.
“We’ve spent £10m on business system technology and we have technical expertise alongside being a traditional financial services organisation.”
