Debevoise & Plimpton’s London office is ramping up its finance practice by taking on a former Allen & Overy (A&O) partner.
Peter Hockless, who practised at A&O for 24 years, 15 as a partner, before leaving three months ago, is set to join Debevoise on Monday (22 September), where he will lead the office’s finance group.
During his time at A&O, Hockless spent a number of years at the firm’s Paris office. On joining Debevoise, Hockless will work closely with the firm’s French office with former Linklaters partner Eyrl Besse.
Debevoise’s London finance practice consists of five partners and 10 assistants, of whom half are UK-qualified lawyers.
Although the finance practice covers a number of areas, such as project finance, restructuring and aircraft leasing, Hockless will specifically add to the firm’s acquisition finance capability, which supports the highly rated private equity group.
