Liability to the relatives of those who die from asbestos-related diseases is to come under the scrutiny of the Law Lords. Leave has been given for an appeal by the Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB) against High Court and Appeal Court decisions paving the way for a claim by dependants of a man who died after inhaling asbestos. Some, though not all, of the sites where he inhaled asbestos were owned by the CEGB.
