Mayer Brown‘s ally in Spain Ramón & Cajal has been hit by the departure of key real estate partner Fernando Marin to independent firm Rodés & Sala Abogados.
The move is a boost to the growing Madrid office of Rodés, which has its headquarters in Barcelona.
Rodés Madrid managing partner Julio Veloso said: “He’s really recognised and appreciated in the real estate world.
“We already have work in real estate, but now we’ll have more.”
Rodés is currently negotiating with Marin’s team of senior associates in an effort to tempt it to the firm. So far one lawyer has signed up for the move.
Marin joined Ramón in 2000, after spending five years at Luis Suarez de Lezo & Asociados.
