An Allen & Overy (A&O)-advised consortium has emerged triumphant in the £4.2bn auction for Southern Water.

A&O corporate partner Alan Paul won the instruction off the work he did for Macquarie Bank on its successful £8bn bid for Thames Water.

Macquarie was the financial adviser to the consortium on this deal, led by JPMorgan Asset Management and Australia’s Challenger Infrastructure Fund.
