Slaughter and May is acting for Unilever on its proposal to purchase the outstanding stock of Bestfoods. The Anglo Dutch company is offering $66 (£43) per share which will value Bestfoods at $18.4bn (£11.6bn). Michael Peascod, corporate partner at Slaughters, headed a four-strong team on the deal.

Olswang represented the management of Financial Data Systems (FDS) and institutional sellers Gresham Trust on the sale of FDS to Wolters Kluwer.
