Eurosea and Park Plaza are proving dream clients for Tarlo Lyons, providing a steady stream of work across the board as they develop and invest in the UK hotel industry. The firm acts on a substantial part of Eurosea/Park Plaza work. Last year it worked with them on their rapid growth in the UK, with the purchase of the Sherlock Holmes Hotel in London from the Hilton Group and the purchase of Queensborough House on London’s Albert Embankment. The latter will be converted into a 550-room hotel overlooking the Thames.
Head of commercial property Philip Diamond led the Tarlo Lyons team on the Nottingham deal with partner Jeremy Taylor, who joined from Fenners in March 2000. Former Herbert Smith assistant Paul Murray, who joined Tarlo Lyons in August, worked with them on the acquisition.
The firm’s expanding hotel and leisure group has been developed into a focused body with a core of around 10 fee-earners drawing on firm-wide expertise. Eurosea and Park Plaza are serviced across the firm and more work is certain to follow.
