Wragge & Co is widely regarded as one of the main drivers behind the emergence of Birmingham’s legal community as a force to be reckoned with. Or so Quentin tells Tulkinghorn on a regular basis. But Tulkinghorn is disappointed to discover that Wragges lawyers are just like those everywhere – prone to embarrass themselves at the merest whiff of a barmaid’s apron.
The above picture was taken at a recent wine tasting and quiz evening at the new home of Birmingham-based St Philip’s Chambers. Never ones to turn down a free drink, Wragges turned out in force – nearly 50 of them in fact – to share the delights of a whole range of fine wines with 30 of their St Philip’s colleagues. So just what exactly are Dominic Roberts, Wendy Holder and Fraser Watson (from left to right) up to? Tulkinghorn can discern no possible relation between being tied up, wearing one’s tie as a bandana and having a young lady thrust her hand inside your shirt – and wine tasting.
Tulkinghorn is offering a night out at St Philip’s (well, it certainly promises to be eventful) for the best picture caption.
