Sports boutique Onside Law has launched a litigation practice, bringing in Chris Walsh from Lyndhurst Racing to head the new group.
Walsh was general counsel at Lyndhurst Racing. He will take the company with him as a new client.
Onside Law partner Jamie Singer said: “We set up as three commercial lawyers in the sports industry but found there are a lot of disputes in the industry. We needed someone with litigation experience to come on board.”
Walsh’s hire accompanies a turnover rise of 85 per cent for the three-partner firm, up to almost £700,000.
Last year it acted for Roland Garros in an IP High Court battle against Adidas as part of the International Tennis Federation’s battle against the company. The federation and its members, including Garros, argued that Adidas’s three-stripes trademark broke its rules on player attire.
Lyndhurst Racing owns most of the teams in motor sport competition A1GP World Cup.
Onside Law was set up in 2005.
