Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw has announced a rejig of its internal management as Paul Maher relinquishes the role of London senior partner.
Sean Connolly, current co-head of the London litigation practice, will become senior partner in London in September, while Jeremy Clay, head of the finance committee, will become head of the firm’s executive committee in June.
Clay and Connolly worked closely with Maher in putting together the 2002 merger between Rowe & Maw and Chicago’s Mayer Brown & Platt.
The shake-up will also see litigation partner Karen Abbott become head of the strategic committee, while Peter Dickinson moves up to become head of the corporate department.
Maher, who was elected vice-chairman of the global firm last year, told The Lawyer: “These are very exciting changes in London. We have an ambitious strategy and I’m confident that this is the right management team for what we want to do.
“This will give me an opportunity to continue fee-earning as well as doing the vice-chair role.”
