Herbert Smith has scooped its first instruction from the RAC as the motoring insurance group announced last week that it will be acquired by Aviva. Partners Anthony Macaulay (left) and Caroline Goodall are advising the RAC on the £1.1bn deal. Charles Randell at Slaughter and May is acting for Aviva, a longstanding client of the firm.
