Allen & Overy (A&O) has raided White & Case to boost its Shanghai office.
Victor Ho, who launched and headed White & Case’s Shanghai office since 2000 has joined A&O as a partner with effect from today (15 March).
Ho, a US qualified lawyer, has experience in cross-border M&A, joint ventures, direct investments, private equity, venture capital and general corporate and commercial advisory work across a variety of sectors on the mainland.
Commenting on Ho’s appointment Simon Black, managing partner of A&O’s Shanghai office said: “Victor’s arrival is an important step in our expansion plan in the PRC [People’s Republic of China] and we fully expect to devote more resources in China in the coming months.”
Before joining White & Case Ho worked at Baker & McKenzie’s Shanghai and Hong Kong offices for over five years.
With Ho’s arrival A&O’s China practice now boasts more than 70 lawyers in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.
