The managing partner of Addleshaw Goddard’s corporate division Sean Lippell is standing down after five years at the helm

Lippell, who is due to stand down on 1 May, will focus full time on his client partner roles for J Sainsbury, Barclays Private Equity, Hagemeyer and Grampian Country Food Group, with responsibility for driving the growth of Addleshaws’ corporate client portfolio both in Yorkshire and nationally.

Currently, Addleshaws acts for more than 80 FTSE 350 clients; of these, the firm is the lead corporate adviser to around 10.

Lippell will be succeeded by Manchester-based corporate partner Paul Devitt, who will take over on 1 May after a two-month handover.

Commenting on his new role, Devitt said: “Sean’s done a very good job and has a great stable of clients. My priorities will be to continue to attract, retain and develop these relationships.”

Devitt, who has been a partner since 1995, counts De Vere Group, My Travel Group, N Brown Group and Victrex as clients. One of his most recent deals included advising BT on its recommended takover of Transcomm.
