Eversheds uses Tyco template to bag Brady’s Emea work

Eversheds has won yet another Tyco-style coup, scoring the sole adviser role for US sign manufacturer Brady’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea) operations.

This is the sixth deal Eversheds has won since it became Tyco’s sole adviser early last year. Other wins include Akzo Nobel and Samsung.

The firm’s latest appointment followed a three-stage beauty parade. The pitch was led by corporate partner Sue Lewis.

The deal clincher was Eversheds’ project management system, which gives general counsel the ability to approve costs before work begins.

The firm pushed its project management software, known as the global account management system (Gams), as a way of driving efficiency and delivery.

Krista Ebbens, senior legal counsel at Brady, said the billion dollar-turnover corporation, which operates in 106 countries, is planning to expand, leading to an increase in legal activity that Eversheds is well placed to deal with.

“By establishing a long-term relationship with Eversheds we’ll be working with one European firm who’ll get to know our businesses and will be able to implement systems which will handle matters in the most cost-efficient manner possible and reduce overall risk,” explained Ebbens.

Lewis added that there was a growing trend for companies to reduce their numbers of approved legal advisers to gain control and create consistency across the board.

“We offer that unique solution for companies working across Europe, with the ability to provide a proven project management approach which they can see really works,” said Lewis.
