Scottish firm Burness has raided the Glasgow office of McClure Naismith for the lateral hire of property partner Nick Naddell.
Naddell, who headed the real estate practice at McClures, brings associate Emma Millar with him as well as MacRoberts associate Graeme Bradshaw.
Burness chairman Philip Rodney said: “This move represents a real coup for our property team, which is already one of the largest and most dynamic in Scotland.
“Nick’s an excellent lawyer with an impeccable reputation in the industry, so we’re delighted that he and his team will be joining us.”
Naddell’s practice focuses on a wide range of real estate issues, such as leasing for multinational retail tenants, development and leasing in the health and leisure sectors, commercial property acquisitions and disposals and banking and security.
Speaking of his appointment, Naddell said: “Burness is an extremely strong brand and has experienced marked growth and development in recent times. After 18 good years at McClure Naismith I’m looking forward to new challenges and being part of such a successful team.”
No one at McClures was available for comment. It is unclear whether Naddell will be directly replaced.
