Channel 5’s legal chief Paul Chinnery has been made redundant and is set to leave the broadcaster at the end of October.
The TV company has offered redundancy packages to 20 staff in the legal department following its takeover by Richard Desmond’s Northern & Shell in July. This will pave the way for a reorganised legal department at the broadcaster. Chinnery has been with Channel 5 since its launch in 1997. He was promoted to head of the legal department in 2008 and joined its board in January 2009.
