Tulkinghorn has never attended the Great Northern Cook-Off. But if he did, he would try to get onto Addleshaw Goddard’s team. The lawyers took the competition by storm, winning four awards, despite calling themselves The Inedibles.
The team had to recreate three dishes (below) by two Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines MBE. The Inedibles won awards including ‘Most Interesting Interpretation of a Recipe’ and a ‘Best Chef of the Competition’, which Manchester partner Alan Sturrock took home.
But Addleshaws was not the only firm in attendance. Excellently enough, Pannone’s Andrew Rimmer won ‘The Domestic Goddess’ Award.
The Addleshaws team included Leeds private capital partner Pervinder Kaur, as well as Amy Barlow and Samantha Sharples of private bank Coutts. See their menu, left.
If he had the energy, Tulkinghorn would be kicking himself for not having been there. In a strange coincidence, his old geography teacher was called Basil Syrup. He was anything but sweet.
