Jamie William Coats Rees, 47, admitted 1974, practising at material times as Jamie Rees & Co, Pentre, Mid Glamorgan, fined £5,000 and ordered to pay £3,022 costs. Allegations substantiated he delayed or failed to deal with clients affairs with reasonable expedition, practised in breach of conditions imposed on practising certificate, failed to keep accounts in accordance with accounting rules.
Clive Robert Waters, clerk at Elliott Mortlock Busby & Co accountants to solicitors AG Freeman, of Southend, Essex, banned from working for any solicitors without consent of Law Society and ordered to pay £4,194 costs. Appeal lodged against costs. Tribunal told Waters jailed for total of 30 months after pleading guilty to theft of client money last year.
Peter Charles Claridge, 49, solicitor's clerk working for Bristol City Council, banned from working for further solicitors without Law Society consent. Allegations substantiated he was sentenced to 30 months jail after pleading guilty in November to nine offences of false accounting last year.
