South Wales firm Leo Abse & Cohen is aiming for rapid growth as it launches its third office in the principality.
The firm will open in Newport in April with a team of 21 staff, including 15 lawyers. The new office will be led by partner Mike Jenkins and plans to offer advice on personal injury, commercial property, company commercial, wills and estate, family and clinical negligence law.
Managing partner Ian Hopkins told The Lawyer: “The new office is part of our strategy to become the leading full-service firm in South Wales. We’re trying to put clear water between ourselves and other mid-sized firms.”
Hopkins says turnover will reach £8m for the 2005-06 financial year.
The 80-lawyer firm, which also has offices in Cardiff and Swansea, has hired Rachel Rees as a business development manager from John Collins & Partners to spearhead the marketing drive.
