Clifford Chance is ramping up its capital markets practice in Dubai with the transfer of a three-person securitisation team to the Middle East office.
Securitisation partner Debashis Dey is moving from London to Dubai and will be followed by at least two other associates in the near future.
The move aims to put a securitisation and formalised capital markets capability on the ground in Dubai and will be used to service clients in the region.
There are already some people on the ground in Dubai assisting with capital markets but not at partner level or in formal practice group.
There are about 35 staff in the Dubai office, which has just celebrated its 30th anniversary. New London managing partner and head of UK litigation Jeremy Sandelson has management responsibility for the office.
