Scottish projects and construction specialist Macroberts has raided rival Burness for two property lawyers, both of whom will join the firm as partners.
Commercial property partner Nick Jones and Sarah Pirie, an associate who is also currently head of Burness’s environment team, are set to join Macroberts later this year.
Jones is understood to have already left Burness with a September start date at Macroberts pencilled in, while Pirie is scheduled to join in October.
A spokesman for Burness said: “Nick and Sarah are former members of the property department at Burness, which is one of the largest and best in Scotland. The department has particular strength and depth to support a wide range of clients and has grown substantially over the past few years. We wish both Nick and Sarah well in their future careers.”
Macroberts is a 33-partner, full-service firm best known for projects and construction advice, with clients including Amec, Balfour Beatty and Carillion. Its property team is currently home to eight partners.
Last year Macroberts posted a total revenue of £17.5m, up 5 per cent on 2005-06’s £16.8m.
