Crash victim sues hotel group

A hotel employee who suffered brain damage when he was run over by a colleague parking a high-powered car has launched a High Court damages claim against his former employers, Warrington-based De Vere Hotels. Royston Dummett, 66, who suffered a cerebral haemorrhage after the accident at Brighton's Grand Hotel in 1997, claims De Vere failed to ensure that the driver who hit him was competent to drive all types of car.
