The City loves a good old game of golf – great news for corporate lawyers when their clients fancy a day on the fairways. But not so great news for Stephenson Harwood.

When faced with a client such as Royal Bank of Scotland, which boasts huge numbers of golf-loving Scotsmen in its ranks, the 76-partner firm has difficulty even fielding a team.

So much so that corporate partner Peter Bradley – hardly famed for his golfing prowess – got forced out onto the course.

Which, in turn, isbad news for the client, who spent most of the day waiting for him to retrieve his ball from the rough.
