Pinsent Masons has recovered from Mishcon de Reya‘s raid on its IP team with hires from national rival Addleshaw Goddard and the BBC.

Addleshaws senior IP litigation associate Iain Connor joins Pinsents as a partner, along with BBC IP lawyer Rebecca Hulmes, who joins as an associate.

In September Pinsents IP partner Martyn Hann and barrister Les Christie left for Mishcons.

Pinsents IP head Kim Walker explained: “We’re filling the gaps to make sure we’ve got complete service in London.

“Iain has good links with existing clients of ours, such as Royal Bank of Scotland, and so we’re hoping these prove fruitful.”

He added: “We’re in expansion mode. There does seem to be a lot of work about.”

The new starters will push Pinsents’ London IP team up to 16 lawyers.
