Fladgate Fielder head of employment Adam Lambert is to join Barlow Lyde & Gilbert’s (BLG) employment practice.

Against a background of slow growth, BLG’s employment practice has doubled its turnover in the last 18 months. Lambert said his decision to leave Fladgate Fielder came “because it is an opportunity not worth turning down”.

Earlier this month the firm attempted to resurrect its non-contentious practice with the hire of Taylor Wessing corporate partner, Roger Pike.

Senior partner Richard Dedman said: “Lambert’s a great addition to our recent hires within the employment department and the wider corporate and commercial team – Jon Yorke, James Parker, and Andrew Giverin.”

The firm has suffered some big blows this year with the departure of commercial litigation head Clare Canning to Mayer Brown following the loss of financial services regulatory chief Chris Warren-Smith and Singapore boss David Johnston jumping ship.
