Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy has hired financial disputes partner Charles Evans. Evans is a longstanding member of Norton Rose’s litigation practice, where he was a partner. Milbank has made a series of lateral hires in recent months. In August

The Lawyer revealed that Linklaters projects partner Clive Ransome was to join the firm. This followed the appointment of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer competition partner Nicholas Spearing in June and Linklaters corporate partner Mark Stamp in February.



Dundas & Wilson equity partner and London head of litigation Martin Thomas will join Wragge & Co’s real estate litigation team as a partner in early 2013.

Field Fisher Waterhouse has hired EU and competition partner Philippe Ruttley from Clyde & Co. He is joined by senior associate Solange Leandro.

EIP has bolstered its electronics practice with the appointment of James Seymour as a partner. He joins the firm’s London office from his previous role as in-house IP counsel for Nokia.

Lydia Stuart-Banks has qualified as a legal executive and becomes a member of Veitch Penny’s personal injury department.

Setfords Solicitors has added consultant solicitor Emily Frank to its real estate department from Eversheds, where she was a solicitor in the commercial property team.

Verisona Solicitors & Advocates has made two appointments in its commercial team. Solicitor Darren Stone joins from Adams & Remers, where he was an insolvency solicitor, and solicitor Akbar Shah joins from Steele Raymond, where he was a commercial property solicitor.

Cripps Harries Hall has brought in Christopher Digby-Bell as a legal consultant on a non-executive basis to drive business development, with the aim of broadening the firm’s reach and generating new business opportunities.


Higgs & Sons has appointed a new solicitor in its family department. Hannah Nicholls joins from Wallace Robinson Morgan in Solihull, where she was a solicitor.


Stephanie Macpherson, a construction solicitor, has joined the construction team at the Manchester office of Darbys Solicitors, having previously been at Hill Dickinson as a solicitor-advocate.

Independent firm Berg has recruited Pamela Young as a consultant. She was previously head of property at Pinsent Masons.

DWF has recruited specialist dental healthcare lawyer Sunil Abeyewickreme as a partner in its healthcare team. Abeyewickreme was a senior legal adviser to the British Dental Association. Meanwhile, the firm has added associate Jon Gould to its private client team based in Newcastle. He was an associate with Hay & Kilner Solicitors.


Pensions specialist Alison Shackleton is joining Brodies as a partner in Glasgow in the employment, pensions and benefits team. She joins from Burness, where she was a director.

Hugh James has strengthened its commercial property team with the arrival of partner Caroline O’Flaherty. She was a senior associate with Geldards.


José Ignacio Jiménez Blanco, previously head of Clifford Chance’s tax practice in Madrid, has joined KPMG Abogados. He will be in charge of tax matters related to the structuring of financial transactions.

Hogan Lovells has expanded its Paris finance practice with the hire of dedicated business restructuring and insolvency partner Cecile Dupoux. Dupoux is currently a partner at Linklaters.


Jason Stover has joined Faegre Baker Daniels as a special counsel in the firm’s Minneapolis office where he will practice in the business litigation group. He was a partner with Gray Plant Moody.

Squire Sanders has hired partner Glynna Christian to its commercial, outsourcing and procurement practice in New York from Winston & Strawn.

Former Baker & McKenzie New York partner Junghye June Yeum has joined Yulchon Attorneys at Law in Seoul as co-head of international arbitration practice.

Temple Garden Chambers has added catastrophic injuries and health and safety silk Jonathan Watt Pringle QC. He was a member of the South African bar.

Carey Olsen has appointed Sarah Wallis as a senior associate in the firm’s property team in Guernsey, specialising in residential conveyancing and private client services. Wallis was previously an associate at AFR Advocates in Guernsey.


CPA Global, an IP management specialist and legal services outsourcing provider, has appointed Ruth Daniels as general counsel. She was previously with, the family history and social networking business, where she was vice-president of legal (international) and China.
