The founder of IP consultancy Rouse & Co International has been appointed chief executive at common law set Seven Bedford Row (7BR).
Peter Rouse, who starts at 7BR today (12 May), takes the baton from Stephen Allen, who left chambers to launch a consultancy focused around the Legal Services Act.
Rouse said that, while his background may be as an IP lawyer, he also has experience of managing and innovating services.
“I want to bring this experience to chambers, which is already a forward-thinking set,” said Rouse. “I like to turn things inside out and upside down to see if I can spot any incremental adjustments that need to be made, which I hope will improve services.”
7BR’s new chief executive launched Rouse & Co in 1990 and he left in 2000. It is now an international consultancy with 13 offices worldwide.
