The London office of Morgan Lewis has scooped Brown Rudnick’s outsourcing and technology team.
Former Brown Rudnick partner Rory Graham joins the firm alongside associate Simon White.
“We didn’t have enough resource around to do what we wanted to do [at Brown Rudnick]. When you’re working on deals out of Switzerland, South Africa or the US, you need resources. We needed to be part of a bigger team,” said Graham.
Brown Rudnick has just two outsourcing partners in the US, while Morgan Lewis has around 40 outsourcing lawyers, including specialists such as John Funk.
The London office of Morgan Lewis is home to Norton Rose‘s former head of IP and IT Richard Barratt, who joined in 2004 to help build a UK IT and outsourcing practice. Robert Goldspink, London managing partner, said: “With the strength of our US practice, we believe we’re on track to becoming one of the world’s leading outsourcing practices.”
Graham joined Brown Rudnick from Baker & McKenzie a year ago.
Brown Rudnick has 11 partners in London, mainly specialising in private equity, restructuring and distressed debt. The firm declined to comment.
