Formal partner bonus scheme, but no formal assistant bonus scheme – this is incorporated into the annual appraisal and objective-setting process. Determined for partners annually by panel review, ranging from between 5 and 20 per cent of earnings.

A full training programme for all lawyers to meet all training requirements, both technical and in terms of personal development.

Ongoing performance management programme, structured around an annual review and six-monthly update. Only partners are appraised on a 360° system.

Partner progression
Eighty per cent of current partners are home-grown and 29 out of an approximate 150 partners are laterals. Youngest partner 25.

Billable hours target
1,500 hours.

Holiday entitlement
Twenty-five days for all staff, plus five days unpaid leave if required. Also the option to carry forward five days into the following year.
