Various training opportunities for assistants, from in-house continuing professional development and soft skills programmes to attendance on external black letter courses. Outside consultants are brought in for specific skills, such as networking and management training, and financial assistance is made available for suitable further qualifications.

Offers 360° appraisal system. Assistant monitored via annual reviews, individual monitoring and supervision from partners.

Partner progression
Partner selection begins with applications invited from all assistants, reviewed by departmental equity partners and then submitted to a full equity partner meeting. Currently 34 per cent of partners are home-grown, with 18 laterals. Youngest partner 27.

Billable hours target
1,400 for all levels.
