Transport for London’s (TfL) director of compliance Gareth John has left the company to take up the general counsel role at facilities management services provider Sodexo.
John will be in charge of Sodexo’s UK and Ireland operations, heading a team of around six qualified lawyers.
It is understood that TfL will advertise to find a replacement for John in the coming months.
As director of compliance at TfL since 2005, John managed a team of 30 lawyers and reported to general counsel Howard Carter, who will continue in his current role.
John now reports to Sodexo’s finance director Aidan Connolly, who said: “Sodexo has a good legal team – Gareth’s brief is to make it even better.”
Sodexo, which provides hospitality catering and other services to companies, recently rebranded, dropping the h from Sodexho because in some languages the combination of x and h can be difficult to pronounce.
