Higginson has been a partner since 1987 and was the former head of property at Radcliffe & Co, before the merger with Le Brasseur J Tickle in 2001.
The firm has had a difficult time since the merger, losing a number of department heads and making redundancies through to partner level.
However, it has stabilised in recent months, with the last departure prior to Higginson’s in March last year.
For Trowers & Hamlins, Higginson’s arrival represents the second real estate hire in three months. As revealed by The Lawyer (13 October), the firm was recently joined by Eversheds partner Sue Hearn.
“Commercial property was targeted by management as a growth area,” said property partner Jeremy Joiner.
“We decided to bring in new blood to help us broaden our client base and inject new ideas into the commercial property department.”
Higginson and Trowers & Hamlins share Hermes as a client.
