SJ Berwin has been hit by the triple defection of three partners including highly-rated private equity partner John Daghlian who is leaving for O’Melveney & Myers.
Key deals for private equity partner Daghlian include advising Apax Partners on the formation of the Apax Europe Fund and the MBO of Bridgepoint. He also advised Guy Hands and his team at Nomura on the establishment of Terra Firma Capital Partners.
Usher is the first competition and EU partner to be appointed by Dundas and will head up the firm’s existing two-strong team.
Commenting on Usher’s move to Dundas’ Edinburgh office, the firm’s managing partner Chris Campbell said that SJ Berwin was “pretty devastated”. Usher, who will join Dundas in April, has been a partner at SJ Berwin since1999.
Pinkerton will join Wragge’s London office as part of its push in real estate in the City. She has previously advised J Sainsbury Developments and Hines. She joined SJ Berwin from Titmuss Sainer Dechert in 1996.
