The legal director of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) Riccardo Nardi has been fired following allegations that he defrauded the organisation of more than £1m.
Nardi, who is accused of swindling ABTA out of £1.2m over a period of nine years has been replaced by the organisation’s legal adviser Simon Bunce.
ABTA is suing Nardi to recover the cash accusing him fraud, misrepresentation, and/or breach of fiduciary duty, and/or a knowing breach of trust. The organisation has brought in West End media and entertainment firm Davenport Lyons to advise it on the pending litigation.
In the meantime, it is understood that the Nardi’s assets have been frozen by the High Court.
The Lawyer was unable to contact Nardi for comment.
