Vinson & Elkins has announced the opening a Hong Kong office, making it the fourth international office the firm has opened in the past three years.

The firm already has over 20 lawyers in its Asian offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo. Its Hong Kong office will be headed by Vinson & Elkins partner Jay Cuclis, who has relocated from the United States.

Cuclis said: “Our presence in Hong Kong will increase the firm’s capabilities to assist clients on transactions throughout East Asia, as well as in other international markets such as Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East.”

Vinson & Elkins managing partner Joe Dilg explained that the office “not only enhances our capabilities and depth in the rapidly growing Asian market, it is also synergistic with our growth plans in New York and London”.
