Insurance specialist Weightmans has unveiled a 4 per cent rise in revenue during the 2008-09 financial year.

The firm saw turnover increase from £50m to a record £52m, although growth slowed compared with the 15 per cent rise achieved the previous year.

However, managing partner Patrick Gaul said that the profit figure, which had yet to be released, would be affected by the recession and the loss of lawyers from the London office. He added: “We’ve also seen an increase in the level of property expenditure following significant investment in new premises in both London and Manchester.”
