Campbell Hooper builds construction

Campbell Hooper has bolstered its construction practice with the appointment of its fifth partner.

Alistair Cutts, head of the legal department for Carillion Construction, will join Campbell Hooper in July.`Duncan Salmon, litigation partner and head of the construction group, said: “We’re delighted that Alistair is joining us. The group will now total 11 fee-earners.”`Cutts said: “I am very much looking forward to joining the dynamic construction practice at Campbell Hooper and being part of such a forward-thinking team.”`Cutts had been in-house counsel for Carillion for four years.`Campbell Hooper’s relationship with Cutts started when it pitched for work on the Nottingham Express Transit PFI project. The firm represented Carillion, which was part of a contracting consortium that bid for the design-and-build tram system in 1994. The £200 million scheme was the first local authority-sponsored PFI project.`Carillion continues to use Campbell Hooper for legal advice.`Carillion has yet to decide who will replace Cutts.
