Bingham McCutchen has bolstered its New York office with another raid on Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson.
Robert Carey joins Bingham as a partner in the New York office’s banking, commercial and structured finance group.
His practice focuses on the representation of underwriters and issuers in connection with debt and equity offerings, in particular high-yield debt offerings and leveraged finance transactions.
Carey’s hire follows Bingham’s raid on Fried Frank’s now-defunct Los Angeles office last week, when the firm took Fried Frank’s last two remaining LA partners.
David Robbins and Stephen Alexander, who had been with Fried Frank for 23 and 30 years respectively, joined Bingham’s Los Angeles office as partners.
Their move followed the closure of Fried Frank’s Los Angeles office last month. The firm’s has shifted strategy to focus on its East Coast and European practices.
