Linklaters boosts Budapest with Freshfields raid

Linklaters has raided Freshfield Bruckhaus Deringer’s Budapest office of two corporate specialists, bagging a new head of corporate for its own office.

Ádám Máttyus joins Linklaters as a partner and head of its corporate practice in Budapest. Máttyus joins from Freshfields, where he had been senior counsel. Ottó Daróczi also joins Máttyus from Freshfields’ Budapest office. He joins Linklaters as a managing associate.

Máttyus has broad corporate experience and specialises in M&A, antitrust and energy. Ottó, who also joins from Freshfields in Budapest, practices in public M&A, finance, real estate and real estate finance.

Linklaters’ Central and Eastern European managing partner Jason Mogg said in a statement: “The appointment of Ádám and Ottó will significantly enhance our ability to offer premium corporate advice in Budapest, as well as reinforcing our market leadership credentials across Central & Eastern Europe.”
