It’s all go in the East. As we report today, those friendly souls at Linklaters have headhunted two senior lawyers out of Freshfields’ Budapest office to bolster its Central and Eastern Europe offering.
Linklaters isn’t the first firm to hire in senior talent – they’re all at it. As discussed today (11 December) in The Lawyer, DLA Piper raided CMS. So did Clifford Chance, which later targeted an association with Linklaters’ former Romanian ally. Salans headhunted out of Weil. Chadbourne did a landgrab in Poland on the back of a White & Case team.
But the hottest money is well east of the Danube. The Turks aren’t having much luck getting into the EU, but we’re sure they will be delighted they’re getting plenty of attention from Western lawyers.
