John Boyd QC has been appointed chair of IT systems supplier Axxia Systems.
Boyd's career has spanned both the legal profession and the IT industry. He was appointed QC in 1982 and in 1988 he became the first industrial lawyer to be elected Bencher of Gray's Inn.
For the past 10 years he has been a prominent figure in the world of IT where he held the position of director at Digital Equipment. He retired from the company in September.
Stuart Holden, managing director at Axxia Systems, said of Boyd's appointment: "John has a breadth of experience and an empathy for Axxia customer needs which is unique in the market."
Boyd has also recently been appointed as a part-time judge dealing with immigration adjudication.
