WilmerHale launches in Frankfurt” />US firm WilmerHale has opened in Frankfurt after poaching four Mayer Brown partners.
Mayer Brown corporate partner Rudiger Herrmann, IP partner Reinhart Lange, litigation partner Christofer Eggers and EU regulatory partner Hans-Georg Kamann are setting up the office.
They will be joined by one of WilmerHale’s corporate partners from Berlin, Christian Crones.
WilmerHale co-managing partner William Perlstein said: “When we opened our initial German office in 1993 as the first US firm in Berlin, we were primarily focused on our regulatory practices.”
He added that since then the firm had since expanded the corporate and IP practices, which had made establishing an office in Frankfurt a logical strategy.
WilmerHale has around 40 lawyers in Berlin after it merged, in 2002, with Berlin firm Quack.
