Pfizer GC walks out

Pfizer has lost its general counsel after Allen Waxman left the world’s biggest drug company citing personal reasons.

Managing director David Reid will take over Waxman’s role while the company looks for a successor. Waxman took over as general counsel two years ago when former general counsel, Jeff Kindler, became chairman and chief executive officer of the company.

Kindler said in a statement: “Allen and his team have been strong advocates for Pfizer, securing a number of important legal decisions that are significant for our business and our future.”

Kindler added: “He has made many contributions to our company. We thank him for those contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Waxman joined Pfizer in 2003 as senior assistant general counsel and chief of litigation from law firm Williams & Connolly in Washington DC, where he was a partner.
