London calling for Wilsons recruits

Charity specialist Wilsons is launching a recruitment drive, including for a new head of charity, ahead of a possible London opening.

Managing partner Jonathan Stephens said that opening in London was a “natural progression” for the Salisbury firm, which is seeking “the right mix” of lawyers to add to the Salisbury lawyers who will be sent to the capital to maintain the firm’s culture.

These could include a replacement head of the firm’s nine-lawyer charity team, which the firm is seeking after Alison McKenna was hired as the first president of the new Charity Tribunal (The Lawyer, 18 February).

The firm is looking for a specialist in constitutional, governance and regulatory work to head the group, which is widely regarded as the other top charity practice after London’s Bates Wells & Braithwaite and international firm Withers.
