Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Munich office has suffered another departure with the loss of tax partner Stephan Salzmann to boutique firm Mohren & Partner.
Salzmann started at Mohren & Partner earlier this month, according to German website JUVE.
He specialises in advising families on the organisation of their business interests. He was also part of the Freshfields team that represented Lehman Brother on the massive restructuring of Le Meridien Hotels.
Salzmann is the second Munich partner to leave this year following the surprise exit of corporate partner Hans-Jörg Ziegenhain to Hengeler Mueller.
Two years ago Freshfields’ Munich operation also lost the high-powered private equity trio of Rolph Fuger, Peter Nussbaum and Norbert Rieger when they left to set up the successful Munich office of Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy.
