Pinsent Curtis advised Sunderland Football Club on its strategic media alliance with British Sky Broadcasting Group. BSkyB has bought £6.5m worth of Sunderland’s share capital, representing 5 per cent of its total. It will also pay the club £6.5m to act as the exclusive media agent for five years. The Pinsent Curtis team was led by corporate finance partner Martin Shaw and media partner Simon Pigden. Herbert Smith acted for BSkyB with corporate partner Charles Severs leading the team.
