Watson Farley & Williams has appointed Richard Wilmot as a partner in its Hong Kong office. The firm opened in Hong Kong earlier this year and Wilmot brings expertise in advising and representing banks, buyers, and trading companies on commodities and regulatory matters. The former Holman Fenwick Willan Hong Kong partner brings with him a team of three associates – Andrew Carpenter, Josephine Chan, and Noelle Doo.



Canadian firm Gowlings has made a double hire in its London restructuring team, with the move including the recruitment of former Osborne Clarke practice co-head David Wright.

Wright has joined the firm’s City base as a consultant alongside current Osborne Clarke restructuring partner Andrew Mace, who becomes a partner at the Canadian firm. Wright moves from niche litigation, insolvency and restructuring firm dawLaw, which he set up in late summer this year after leaving Osborne Clarke, where he was a partner and restructuring, turnaround and insolvency co-head alongside Nigel Boobier.


Ward Hadaway has taken on Andrew Marshall as an associate in the firm’s employment team. He was previously head of insured employment at DWF. He will be based in the firm’s Leeds office.

The Sheffield office of Irwin Mitchell has expand its business legal services team with the hire of corporate partner Andrea Cropley. She joins from Nabarro in Sheffield, where she was also a partner.

The Manchester office of Hill Dickinson has added to its property and construction team with the appointment of Tim Richards, Tom McCumeskey and Megan Jones. Richards is a senior associate form Addleshaw Goddard, McCumeskey was at DWF and Megan Jones has joined as a graduate paralegal.

Simpson Millar has expanded its medical negligence team with the hire of Stephanie Forman as a partner. She was previously an associate with Irwin Mitchell.


TWM Solicitors has recruited Lindsey Alexander as a partner in its family and matrimonial team at the firm’s Epsom office. Alexander joins from Memery Crystal, where he was also a partner in the family team.

Harrison Clark has welcomed former Bevan Brittan litigator Adam Finch as partner and head of financial services litigation, based in Cheltenham.

Stone King has brought in construction lawyer Julia Davenport-Cooper to the firm’s commercial property team from DAC Beachcroft.


Cobbetts has made three solicitor hires to its Birmingham office. Michael Green has joined the property litigation team as a director from SGH Martineau, solicitor Gary Munro joins the real estate team from Kimbells Freeth, and newly qualified solicitor Rhian Banks moves to the corporateteam from Harrison Clark.


De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés has added three partners to its European law and EU litigation teams. Jean-Paul Hordies will be based in the Paris office while Geoffroy de Foestraets and Bruno Lebrun will be based in Brussels.

Competition law specialist Edouard Sarrazin has joined Squire Sanders Paris office as a partner. He was previously at boutique law firm Magenta, where he was a counsel, and specialises in anti-trust matters.

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek has promoted four new partners: Kai Bandilla (corporate, Hamburg), Stefan Jöster (insurance, Cologne), André Szesny (white collar and criminal compliance, Düsseldorf), and Bernd Weller (employment, Frankfurt). In addition, Johan-Michel Menke (employment, Hamburg), Tim Remmel (corporate, Cologne), Cord Tomhave (transport, litigation, Hamburg), Dominik von Wissel (corporate, Hamburg), Madeleine Zipperle (capital markets, Cologne) were appointed salaried partners. Meanwhile the firm has completed its management elections. Andreas Urban was re-elected managing partner for strategy and marketing/PR and Hans Gummert was re-elected managing partner for finance.

Legance has promoted two new partners: Giuseppe Abbruzzese, who advises on administrative law, and Vito Auricchio, who advises on EU, antitrust and regulatory matters.

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan is opening its fourth European office in January, launching in Paris with the hire of arbitration partner Philippe Pinsolle from Shearman & Sterling.

RPC has appointed Davide De Rosa as a senior adviser to be based in its recently opened Hong Kong office to focus on businesses entering or operating in China. He joins from De Bedin & Lee’s Hong Kong office.

The banking practice of Norton Rose has announced the appointment of Li Jinnan as a partner in Beijing. Jinnan was previously a partner in the banking group of King & Wood Mallesons’ Beijing office.

Howse Williams Bowers has promoted Katherine Chuang, Lynn Lee, Lisa Nabou and Oonagh Toner to its partnership.

King & Spalding has recruited Kelly Malone, a specialist in cross-border development and financing of major energy projects, as a partner in its energy practice, based in Singapore. He joins from the Singapore office of Norwegian firm Wikborg Rein, where he was a partner and head of the global projects team.


Sue Malthouse has returned to Veale Wasbrough Vizards as a partner in the commercial team after a spell as group head of legal and company secretary for Clarks Shoes.
