Cobbetts’ Birmingham boss creates consultancy

Cobbetts Birmingham head Stephen Gilmore has quit the firm after 30 years of service to follow his own business interests.

Gilmore will stay on the Cobbetts payroll as a consultant to help with the firm’s key client relationships while also running his own private consultancy business.

Gilmore said: “I’ve always considered myself to be a businessman who happens to be a lawyer.

“I feel that the time has now come to explore other opportunities outside the profession.”

Cobbetts has appointed corporate partner Graham Muth to replace Gilmore as the new head of the firm’s Birmingham office.

Muth was at Lee Crowder for 23 years, becoming senior partner in 1995. He was an executive board member when Lee Crowder merged with Cobbetts in 2004.
