Mouldy, cold and dough

It’s not been an easy year for the laid-off associates at Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft. A total of 131 had to pack up their belongings and find jobs elsewhere as tough times turned into redundancies.

But spare a thought for those who are left. Managing partner Bob Link, for example, still has a job and earns enough for him to purchase a $6m (£3.27m) home in the exclusive holiday destination of Southampton, New York.

But sadly all is not rosy for Link and his new home. Rather than sunning himself by his new swimming pool, Link has been forced to sue the property’s developers for $60,000 (£32,700) after claiming the property has bad plumbing and construction defects.

Apparently there’s a “build-up of moisture and flooding, mould and mildew problems in the basement”.

Tulkinghorn doesn’t quite understand what all the fuss is about – in Southampton, England, Tulkinghorn would just get one of his assistants to mop up the mould and mildew.

Ah, hold on, Link probably has none left.
