DLA Board seat election goes to the vote

Voting is underway for the seat on DLA Piper’s board vacated by the firm’s Nordic chairman Henning Øglænd. Meanwhile, joint chief executive Nigel Knowles will stand for reelection at the end of the year.

Øglænd has stepped down partway through his term on the board, with four partners competing for the seat.

London partner Matthew Saunders is standing against Abu ;Dhabi ;managing ­partner Stephen Webb, Hamburg managing partner Klaus von Gierke and Russia and CIS managing partner ;Constantine ­Lusignan-Rizhinashvili.

The ­election result will be announced on 5 September.

In January DLA axed one chief executive role, with Baltimore-based Frank Burch standing down to take up the chairmanship. London-based Knowles and Chicago-based Lee Miller remain as joint chief executives.
